Kodak

Good morning, My name is Emily Graham and I work for Charlotte County Animal Control. I am reaching out at this point in desperation for assistance with either finding a foster or a forever home for a very sweet dog that came from a case from my department late last year. Kodak is about a two year-old cur mix, with grade 4 Luxating patella’s. Our department had been going back and forth with the owners of Kodak in late last year trying to get them to seek a diagnosis for the dog. Eventually, they ended up surrendering him and we did get radiographs done. He did receive surgery at coastal veterinary specialist in Nokomis. He was recently adopted under my department in December, but now the adopter has to move and is no longer able to care for him. Kodak is such a wonderful dog and has gone through so much in his short amount of time I’m hoping that you guys may be able to guide me in the right direction or offer assistance if possible at all. He gets along well with dogs cats and loves kids. He is slightly nervous upon first meeting but quickly warms up. I had him at my house for 3 months during his surgical recovery and he was wonderful. He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. The microchip is currently registered to Charlotte County animal control. However, adopter did take Kodak in for a recheck to Coastal vet services for his one knee that was operated on, the vet stated the surgery was not successful and did not recommend moving forward with anything further as his knees unfortunately are so far past surgical intervention at this point. It is just keeping him comfortable and letting him live out his life as long as he can comfortably manage that. I’ve attached (hopefully) all his records and some pictures. Please let me know if are able to assist in anyway. I’m willing to transport as well! I’m located in North Port and Kodak will be with me after the 1st of March
