Gertrude Honey

Hi! My Name Is Gertrude Honey

She was originally found in NC by someone. She was left out in the cold and emaciated. In different shelters for a year. They know she was definitely starved and given food as a reward. They suspect she was used as a hunting dog but was too friendly and was basically thrown out. She was fostered by one family who claimed she was food aggressive. She was not. She was 10lbs and hungry. She was very shy. We visited the shelter/rescue (Hope for Life) and she immediately sat in my lap when I sat on the floor. Not food aggressive at all. Plays well with my 2 smaller dogs. Loves to cuddle and watch college football. Enjoys car rides. She used to go to Four Paws Inn doggy day care for a full year and played well. She just has separation anxiety and is currently on medication for that. My spouse and I work 10 hr days and can’t come home during shifts. She really needs a place to run with a back yard or someone who is home more. Maybe a retired person or someone who can take her everywhere they go. She is potty trained. Will ring a bell or ash a light to tell you she needs to go outside. Enjoys the snow but not a fan of rain. I sadly am having heart and lung issues and can’t give her all the time and exercise she needs. Hopefully someone will open their home and hearts to her. She’s such a sweet and loyal girl. She is spayed and up to date on records.
